In praise of lime plaster
Why we keep returning to matte, breathing walls, and how lime ages so gracefully.

There's one material we return to in almost every project: lime plaster. Matte, warm, and alive. It doesn't reflect light so much as drink it in, and it looks a little different every hour of the day.
Lime isn't perfect, and that's the beauty of it. It has faint variations, a surface shaped by hand. A modern machine paint never gives you that depth.
Most importantly, it ages well. Instead of wearing out, it gains a patina. Ten years on it feels even more like home than on the first day.
