A calm colour palette

The calmest rooms are rarely colourful. They're built on a few warm, earthy tones: lime white, sand, clay, muted green or burgundy.

The trick is proportion. One large neutral base, a few deeper tones, and a single brave accent. That keeps a room composed without being dull.
